Gift ideas: Vivabox perfume selection box!

I was supposed to write about this box set before Christmas but a slight mix-up in the post means this blog post is a little late, but it is by no means only a Christmas gift idea, it would be the perfect birthday present idea too! Basically the Vivabox is a little set of drawers that you can pick up from The Perfume Shop, and it contains 7 samples of different perfumes so that you can give it as a present and they can make their own decisions on which is their favourite one!

Now here's where the selection box is special - all of the perfume samples are in the top drawer of the box, and then in the second drawer is another little present... a voucher to be redeemed for a full size bottle of the chosen perfume! It also contains a perfume guide on the size and some more information so that you can make your decision before you go into town and pick it up! I'd say that the box is around the same price as a full sized bottle of most of the perfumes, maybe a tiny bit more but it's more for safety so that you know the person you're buying for will definitely end up with some perfume they love, and it's more fun than a gift voucher! It comes in both a male and female version too so that there's a choice for everyone! :)

The female version that I have contains samples of: Jimmy Choo Flash, Carolina Herrera 212 VIP, Lacoste Touch of Pink, BOSS Orange, Ghost, Paco Rabanne Black XS and Paco Rabanne Lady Million. I've been having a lot of fun trying on a different perfume per day and all the different scents, and I think that my favourite so far is the Paco Rabbane Lady Million, but I'm going to give them each a few gos before I make my final decision!

Thanks for reading :)

Photo round-up of my year in 2013! :)

I've got to say that 2013 has probably been one of the weirdest years of my life! There have been particularly high highs but also some horribly low lows, so I'm kinda happy to close the door on 2013 and look forward to all that 2014 has to bring! I know for a fact that this year I shall finish uni and graduate (unless something terrible happens), I shall move back home and have to find myself a job, maybe move in with Joe, maybe move to London, earn money, dye my hair blonder and get some more tattoos! The next 5 months at uni are probably gonna be the hardest of my life, but I can't wait to see my finished collection of clothes and see what the future brings my way!

January

January always start on NYE/New Years Day with a kiss from Joe wherever we are! It's times like this that I really appreciate Instagram and Facebook, because otherwise I would definitely have forgotten what happened throughout this year, let alone just January! I went back to uni after Christmas, dyed my hair ombre using the L'Oreal home kit, it snowed! I also did my huge amounts of January sale shopping and we went to a fancy dress party as Trollz, which made me want pink hair in real life!

February

This February I celebrated my 4 year anniversary with Joe! He came down to visit me at uni and I had bought us this cute little gingerbread couple, and he made me the chocolate heart cake, what a cutie! I also had very ginger hair at this point, and was addicted to my denim jacket haha! I also got my hands on the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler (you can see the full review here) so this is probably the first time you've ever seen me with curled hair!

March

Half of March was spent at uni going for some fun nights out, doing lots of uni work and helping out with Norwich Fashion Weekender, and the other half was spent back at home for Easter. How funny is the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves fancy dress we did?! I was Snow White, then my boyfriend and his family went as the seven dwarves! I also found my studded bumbag in Primark which was used loads through out Summer!

April

April was definitely one of my most favourite months this year! I celebrated my 22nd birthday, and was totally spoilt by my family, friends and boyfriend! Judging my the amount of pink, you can see they know me very well ;)! It was also Easter at the beginning of the month so lots of yummy chocolate, some of my best friends came to visit uni for my birthday, and my best friends birthday is 6 days before me so we celebrated together! I also started watching Game of Thrones, met Proudlock from Made in Chelsea in London who was lovely and went on the Winnie the Pooh trail. My best friend did my birthday make up for the night out, and I started collecting Disney DVDs/ reliving my childhood! :)

May

May is always a nice month at uni because it's the last month before we all go back home for Summer! We hand in our last project of the year and appreciate the warm weather with chilling on the balcony and lots of alcohol and BBQs! I was very happy with my magazine project I handed in, visited Amy in Essex and went for a night out there for the first time, bought my beloved Topshop pinafore and found lots of lovely bits in the local charity shops!

June

I spent the beginning of June at uni with a few fun nights out, then packed up my stuff and went home for Summer. I had my interview to be the intern at Waiste Clothing, and I got it! I was so nervous to even apply, so to get it made me very happy! It was so much fun, and Sara was so lovely to work with, you can read some more about it here :). Not only was it great to work behind the scenes, but I have genuinely always loved her stuff and it was fab to see it all being created and to help out myself! This was also the month everyone found their names on Coke bottles, but I couldn't find mine so I made a DIY one ;)

July

July is usually another one of my favourite months because it's super sunny and Summery! It's Joe's birthday month too so we always do something fun :). I continued with my 3 month internship at Waiste, went on a road trip to Nottingham, stayed in a caravan near the beach with Joe, hosted my own BBQ, went to a bloggers event called the Vintage Set Festival and went to The London Dungeons with my best friend (we definitely held hands the whole way around!)

August

I can't really remember what happened in August, and I don't seem to have many photos from this month either! I'm pretty sure I just spent it chilling with my family and friends, enjoying spending my time at home, going to and from London for my internship and appreciating the sun! Me and Joe went to the carboot sale most Sunday mornings so I picked up loads of gorgeous things for around £1, and Joe found this lovely Coca Cola mirror for our future home! We also helped Joe welcome this tiny puppy Darcy into his family, he has grown so much already!

September

September was the month that my internship with Waiste came to an end which I was really sad about, and Sara treated me to lots of lovely Waiste denim pieces, I cannot wait to wear the dungarees most days this Summer! I also went to a festival called Brownstock which was the first festival I had been to in about 4 years so that was fun! It wasn't the biggest festival but it was so fun to just get really drunk and have no worries for a few days! I also got my hands on some little cacti and cut out boots which I had wanted for months!

October

I love coming back to uni in September because we all haven't seen each other in 3 and a half months, and we always have lots of fun nights out! This October was the start of my third year though so we all had to knuckle right down almost straight away so lots of experimentations and sketchbook work was done! We all went mental at Halloween though because we knew it would be our last here :( I went as a dead nurse, and carved my first ever pumpkin! I also treated myself to the Motel star and moon two piece eventually, you can get 20% off MotelRocks.com using discount code 'floraldanielle' :)

November

November was pretty much the same as October in terms of constantly sitting in and doing uni work, but I've come up with lots of new ideas that I love, and my final grade was a good one so I'm really happy with that! We can never really go a month without a fancy dress themed party though, and this one was a Kevin and Perry/90s themed one! This is also the month that I became addicted to American Horror Story, I'm almost finished series two, and I'm loving it!

December

I absolutely love December and the Christmas spirit with all the lovely lights and cheery songs! I was so happy to go home for Christmas this year as this first term of third year has been so stressful, but unfortunately I only really got to go home for just over a week as I decided to come back to uni for NYE! But I made the most of it and saw as many people as I could in that time! I loved giving everyone their pressies, having a yummy roast dinner and spending time with my family :). I got some lovely presents myself, including this bear dressing gown with ears from Joe! We hosted the NYE party back at uni, and it was so lovely to spend the countdown with everyone as this time next year we'll all be off doing different and exciting things!

Wow, this blog post ended up taking a lot longer to make than I actually realised! But I'm so glad I've done it, so I can look back on it in a years time and see how much everything has changed! I honestly thought this year had been pretty crap as it felt like I'd spent 99% of it slaving away at uni or in my room, but it turns out I have had a pretty fun year, and I can't wait to enjoy 2014! :)

Christmas gift ideas #4 - Debenhams jewellery!

I had always kind of assumed that Debenhams would be somewhere that my mum would find loads of clothes and jewellery that she loved, and that I would find nothing, but after being given the chance to review a few pieces of jewellery, my opinion has totally changed! I actually found loads of sweet bits of jewellery that I love! They're not anywhere near as expensive as I'd have assumed too, making them perfect for your Secret Santa or stocking filler ideas!

I absolutely LOVE how this necklace looks with a little collared shirt! As you all know, I've only really worn silver jewellery in the last six months, and I'm so glad I've made the change from gold to silver, how nice do these two shades of grey look together!?

I've been on the look-out for some nice pearl earrings after wearing my Primark ones to death, I decided that it was time to get some which wouldn't turn my ears green! These earrings are a lot smaller than I had realised when I ordered them, but I actually prefer them! This cross brooch is absolutely gorgeous too! I have pinned it to my leather jacket and it adds such a lovely detailing to a plain outfit!

I'm on a mission to start collecting lots of sterling silver rings because I'm sick of always having rusty fingers by the end of the day! This raindrop ring is the perfect start to this collection! I absolutely love the shape of the teardrop and it looks great with fingers full of other silver rings too. These stacked rings are lovely and super duper cheap. They're great for when you're in a rush and want that stacked rings look, and you can pick the colours that go best with your current outfit too!

Wednesday Wishlist #12 - Oh My Love clothing! :)

I've been on the lookout for the perfect Christmas/New Years Eve dress for a little while now and it's turning out to be a much harder search than I first thought! I'm just not really sure what I'm after to be honest though! Do I want something sparkly or something simplistic? Do I want something lacy, or sheer, or velvet?! Anyways, during my dress hunt, I have come across some gorgeous pieces on Oh My Love, and not even just for Christmas and New Years, but for all year around. All of the items I've picked are either black or monochrome, but you literally can't go wrong with black, and the little details on each garment are so nice! I'm also going blonde again this Monday (yay it's been years!) and I love the way blonde hair looks with black clothing and red lipstick :)

How gorgeous is this dress?! It has a really 'For Love & Lemons' vibe to it, and I love how it looks styled with an oversized floppy hat. Like most of these garments, it could cater to both Summer and Winter. In Winter it would look lovely with a fur gilet and tights!

This two-piece is so simplistic and lovely! They would look great as separate pieces too with a coloured top or skirt instead, but I love the look of them as a pair. The top would look nice tucked into the skirt with a little concho belt!

I love the triangular cut out in this maxi dress. I think that it has been placed in a really flattering place, as some cut-out dresses can look a bit much. This dress looks a bit chilly for Winter, but with some black tights and a fur coat you might be able to get away with it!? I'm tempted to order it in advance for Summer though, as it would look so nice with layered up necklaces and beach hair. I have a brown feather patterned version of this dress from Oh My Love last Summer and it is so lovely on!

Everyone needs a few simplistic smock dresses to chuck on for a day at uni with a nice big cardigan and a few necklaces. I'm sick of buying cheap dresses and them falling apart or shrinking after a few washes, so I think I'm gonna treat myself to this one. It doesn't break the bank but would be of a high enough quality to not need to be replaced! I love the curved seam line too :)

I think that if kimonos are layered up enough they can be worn in the Winter without being freezing. I love the print of this black and white floral kimono, and it would look so nice with a long sleeved polo neck and skirt!

This is probably my favourite item out of this wishlist. The simplistic lace insert detailing down the middle front of the dress is so pretty and I love the lace hem too. I'm very tempted to order this as my New Years Eve dress! :)

I can't seem to go a wishlist nowadays without adding in a pair of black chunky heeled boots. I know I need to invest in a pair eventually, but finding the perfect pair is had because there are so many lovely ones out at the moment! I love the heavy tread sole on these and they could be worn all year round :)

Christmas gift ideas #2 - Ryan Gosling edition!

Okay so if you know me, you know I'm slightly obsessed with Ryan Gosling. I'm not sure when or how it happened (after the Notebook, before Drive and Place Beyond the Pines) but it happened and he is just gorgeous. His character in Place Beyond the Pines was probably what tipped me over the edge though - Ryan Gosling covered in tattoos and riding a motorbike... perfection!

Anyways, I was recently contacted by a company called Mr Nutcase asking if I would like to review an iPhone case on my blog so I jumped at the chance. I had been meaning to get a new iPhone case for a little while now and I was allowed to put a picture of anything onto it. So guess what I chose, yes a nice big picture of Ryan Gosling so I can look at him whenever I put my phone down.

Mr Nutcase personalised iPhone case - £14.95*

At only £14.95 including postage, I think that for creating your own iPhone case, this is an absolute bargain, and a great Christmas present too! It could literally be the perfect present for anyone - a picture of the family for your mum, a picture of all your best friends as a leaving present for someone at uni, the list goes on! I've had this phone case on my iPhone since the day it arrived, and I've had so many compliments on Ryan's lovely face :)

Secondly, I was contacted by the lovely people at Roo's Beach about reviewing a product from their website. After browsing for a good while, I came across so many cute and reasonably priced goodies! Everything from stocking fillers to clothing and accessories, but I knew that I had to pick a notebook of Ryan haha!

Roo's Beach Ryan Gosling 'Hey Girl' notebook - £7.00*

This journal makes me laugh every time I look at it! The cute/funny quotes on each page are hilarious and there are even some pages where you can fill in what he's saying yourself. If you know a Ryan Gosling enthusiast like myself, then at only £7.00 this is definitely one for their stocking!

Let's just take this moment to appreciate how good looking Ryan is in The Place Beyond the Pines. And in general. But even more so with tattoos.

Who would you have put on an iPhone case?
Or would you just have to get Ryan yourself?
