Nails Of The Day - MUA Nail Constellations 'Libra' review :)

So recently during my absolutely massive haul, I picked up an MUA Nails Constellations pot from Superdrug. I was so happy to see it in store, as every other time I've gone to look for one, there haven't been any. I was really unsure which one to get, but I picked up 'Libra', which is a mixed of mostly black, and a few mint green balls.

My lovely new products to try out :)

Firstly, I painted my nails mint green, using MUA Nail Varnish Shade 5. I was suprised by how thin it came out, because when I used Shade 5 in my previous 'Nails of the Day' post, the colour was very thick! This is my nails after one coat of the nail varnish.

After two coats...

After 3 coats...

Finally after four coats, I felt that the colour was right.

I knew that I would need some sort of bowl to catch the excess balls in, so I just used the lid of a tin in my bedroom. I painted on an extra layer of nail varnish onto my 'accent nail' and took the lid off the constellations pot.

I poured the balls onto the wet nail, I had to pour for a little while to get balls in all the wet sections of the paint and the rest were caught in the tin lid.

You can take the whole nib of the constellation pot off to use as a funnel for pouring all the excess beads back into the pot.

I absolutely love how it looks and would definitely use MUA constellations again, but I don't know how I feel about these colours together. I think I should maybe have painted the background of the accent nail black so that the only mint on that nail was the mint green balls? What do you think?

I knew I wanted to paint a top coat onto the nails, so I thought I may aswell just try using my new Barry M nail varnish. I thought it might blend the colours together a bit more, but I kinda regret doing it now! For some reason the balls went pink... not really sure what happened?!

I did these nails yesterday, and today the constellations are still staying strong and I have them all left on my nails :). Next time I'm gonna try just a plain top coat, and I'm gonna try them with an all black nail varnish too!

Collective haul for my sister :)

After a lovely long summer, I'm now back at uni, 2 and a half hours away from home. I do love being at uni, but I hate more than anything being away from my best friends, family, boyfriend and doggies! Anyways, I heard my sister was having a bit of a down day, so I told her I was gonna write her a letter, but really I planned to send her a little parcel of goodies, sort of a 'hug in a parcel' :)

I actually had loads of fun shopping for her, as I love shopping anyways, and to know it's gonna make someone else happy is all the more fun! So here's what I ended up buying, I'm not gonna put the prices incase she stumbles across this, but I will say where they're from!

What she would've found when she opened her parcel! :)

Topshop - I know she loves gold jewellery so I got her this lovely double ring pack, one being a plain gold band and the other a cut-out gold cross ring. I also purchased a pair of the white frilled socks, as everyone needs a pair of these!

Miss Selfridge - I bought two of these sets of charm bracelets, one for myself and one for her. We've both always been obsessed with hamsa hands, as our mum used to wear one on a chain when we were growing up, and she recently lost it which is really sad :( but me and my sister planned to get a matching hamsa hand tattoo at some point, so for now we can just have matching hamsa hand charm bracelets!

River Island -  I have been given a few Pez's before for my birthday or Christmas, and I love them cos they remind me of my childhood, so I got her a cute little Hello Kitty one. The cherry flavoured air freshener was literally the nicest thing I've ever smelt! If you have a car, go buy it now! And how much of a bargain are those gold cross earrings at only £1.50?!

Superdrug - I'm literally in love with the MUA range at Superdrug. I can't go into Superdrug without picking up one thing or another, and I decided to try out the nail varnishes myself one time, and found that the shades and colours were really nice! I love this dark pink shade, and the offer at the time was buy anything and get a free lipgloss too, so I got both of these for £1!

Thorntons - What better way to make yourself feel better than with chocolate?! I know we both love a bit of white chocolate so last, but certainly not least, I bought her these little goodies from Thorntons :) how cute is the little white chocolate bear?!

So I wrote her a little letter, sealed it with a lipstick kiss and sent the whole package on it's way! I didn't want to post this post until I knew she'd got the package. I got a lovely phonecall from her a few days after she recieved it, and she was very happy and grateful for it all, which is all I wanted :)

When she came to visit me at uni, and we're dressed as Sandy and Frenchie from Grease :)

Nails of the day: Models Own 'Ibiza Mix' dupe :)

I went on a minature haul yesterday with my uni friends as we all got our student loans in and had a half day at uni. I wasn't expecting to find anything at all, as I'm soon to be on my 100 days no spending ban, and I did actually just not look in any clothes in the clothes shops, but I haven't officially started yet so a few goodies at the start of the month won't harm anyone!

Anyways, so I went to Superdrug and came away with two new nail varnishes :). I'm not gonna lie, I did try the MUA one sneakily on one of my nails and I was so surprised at how good it is! For a bargain of only £1, I was shocked at how matte and nice the colour is! So I added that to my basket instantly and continued to browse.

The second counter I was looking at was the 'Beauty UK' counter which I haven't come across before, but as I was looking I came across this glittery nail polish and I had to have a tester of this too! Surprisingly, it looked just like the Models Own - Ibiza Mix nail varnish that alot of bloggers have been raving about, which is only £5 anyways, but for £3.49 this one is an absolute steal!

MUA Nail Varnish Shade 21 / Posh Polish Beauty UK No. 12 Intergalactic

This is the MUA nail varnish on it's own after two coats. I did this last night at about 2am so I had to use the flash and it kinda overpowered the colour, but it's actually such a gorgeous dark pink colour that I would definitely use on it's own! The bottle seems to have shades of orange in it, but once shaken it all mixes together and is fine :)

At first I was considering just painting a statement nail of the glittered nail polish, but after seeing how nice it looked on, I couldn't help myself painting it on all the others too :)

So here are my final nails, and this was my first ever 'nails of the day' post :)
Below is the photo of my nails I took for instagram and I think this shows the colours as they actually are in real life.
