Favourite bloggers of the month #6

Life has really got in the way of my blog lately and it makes me so sad. I really love blogging and I really love reading other blogs, so it was definitely time for my favourite bloggers of the month blog posts to make a return! The three ladies in this months posts have been favourites for quite some time now, and I have read their blogs for as long as I can remember. I hope you find someone new to have a little style stalk of :)
__________________________________________

First on my list is the beautiful Charlotte of Lurchhound Loves. I've lusted over her wardrobe for many years, watched her get engaged and married, watched her nose job diaries on her YouTube channel and just loved her blog and outfits. I love the way she layers quite simplistic clothes to give them a really unique look, definitely get following her!

Hi Charlotte! Introduce yourself and your blog?

Charlotte Buttrick (formerly Lewis), 30 / Digital Outreach Specialist & Style Blogger / Macclesfield, Cheshire

My blog originally started as a hobby, to share my weekend activities with my rescued Lurcher Brody.  After attending a fashion bloggers event through a friend's invite and discovering fashion blogging, my interests online switched from lifestyle to what I was wearing and that's where it all started. Also, my partner plays a lot of golf at the weekend. So blogging started as something to fill my time with and quickly became a passion, then an obsession and addiction.

Where does your blog name come from?

Lurchhoundloves comes from my initial set up for my blog to be about lifestyle and my Lurcher Brody, who is a Lurcher / Wolfhound mix. Hence Lurchhound and then loves - Lurchhoundloves - as in the things I love.

Now I am kind of stuck with it and have been toying with changing my blog name to something more fashion related. But, as I feel I've started to build a brand after 4 years, it would seem silly to change it. But perhaps it is something I will do in the future.

Where are your favourite places to shop for clothes and accessories?

I love the high street for buying my clothes. My usual go to online store for anything is ASOS. But, lately I have become obsessed with Boohoo and Topshop. And may be guilty of spending on the sites every week ATM 🙊

For my accessories, specifically bags and sunglasses, I prefer to invest in high end pieces that are classic and will stand the test of time. My favourites being my Gucci loafers, Gucci belt - best investment btw that goes with everything in my wardrobe - and my Givenchy Antigona.

Having said that I also love designer dupes for getting the look for less. Recent favourites are my J W Anderson pierce bag dupe and Givenchy boot dupes from Jessica Buurman, which are only about £100 each (basically 10% of the price of the real thing and their quality is amazing too!)

Do you have a favourite style icon?

I wouldn't say I have a favourite style icon as such. I tend to get my inspiration from magazines and merchandising / models online, such as Zara lookbooks and brand emails.

But, if I had to say anyone it would be Rosie Huntington Whitely. Not only is she my woman crush but I love her classic but laid back style and how amazing she looks in everything from denim to dresses. Although, I wouldn't say my style reflects hers. But it is definitely a style I admire, just like Sienna Miller's too.

Which song/songs do you have on repeat recently?

I have always been a Paramore fan girl. So at the moment I have been playing their new album on repeat!

Which item of clothing can you not stop wearing recently?

My Gucci belt. It really is the best investment I've made that seems to go with any outfit I throw on. Apart from that, I basically live in denim and trainers whilst at work and I am obsessed with a lace up pair I have from H&M for the Summer and my Balenciaga Race Runners.

There has been way too many times when I have seen a piece of clothing or accessory on Chloe, and then next thing I know it's in my basket, and then on it's way to being delivered to me. Her style and wardrobe is very similar to mine - all black everything, with a pop of grey, white or floral. I love the way she layers pieces together and she is just bloody adorable! Go get following this girl if you don't already!

Hi Chloe! Introduce yourself and your blog?

Hi! My name is Chloe, and I’m the v. short person behind the fashion and lifestyle blog The Little Plum. I started blogging way back when I was 17, but of course, being 17, I didn’t really keep it up. Fast forward two years to me dropping out of my first year of uni and I desperately needed a creative outlet – TLP became that outlet, and here we are, over 4 years later.

Where does your blog name come from?

My last name is Plumstead and during primary school, everybody referred to my older brother as ‘Plum’. Being the younger and shorter one, I became ‘The Little Plum’ by default.

Where are your favourite places to shop for clothes and accessories?

I’m a high street girl through and through (although that’s thanks to my wallet, rather than my taste haha). You’ll usually find me scouring Zara and Mango, although New Look and Next are pulling some bangers out at the moment.

Do you have a favourite style icon?

I love everything Alexa Chung has done, including Alex Turner… All jokes aside, she achieves effortless chic like nobody else, and maintains a sense of humour alongside it. Love her.

Which song/songs do you have on repeat recently?

In Cold Blood – Alt J, Feel The Way I Do – The Jungle Giants and Say To Me – WHTKD.

Which item of clothing can you not stop wearing recently?

I bought a pair of petite light-wash jeans from Topshop last year, and now the weather has started to brighten up, I haven’t taken them off.

Oh lovely, lovely Leigh. Not only has she been a blogger that I have admired for years, but I was lucky enough to meet her through blogging and end up being her intern when she was working at Oh My Love. She's a total babe and she's currently completing a personal mission of #Leighs12in12 where she is visiting 12 cities in 12 months. I am loving reading these posts and seeing her travels on instagram so definitely check it out!

Hi Leigh! Introduce yourself and your blog?

My name’s Leigh, I’m 26 and based in London. I work in social media & PR for music festivals by day and I blog over at Fox & Feather by night. I started my current blog back during university as a creative outlet to document my love for secondhand and vintage fashion. I was initially torn between studying fashion and illustration at university and because I opted for the latter, my blog become a convenient way to keep up with my interests in styling.

Where does your blog name come from?

I’ll be honest and admit there’s not much meaning behind my blog name other than foxes are one of my favourite animals and I have an unusual obsession with feathers. Plus, I just really like alliteration.

Where are your favourite places to shop for clothes and accessories?

I shop mainly in charity shops and vintage shops because you end up finding unique, one-off pieces you can’t find anywhere else!

Do you have a favourite style icon?

I have so, so many! I take a lot of influence from the ‘it’ girls of the 60s & 70s including Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenburg, Jane Birkin, Pamela De Barres, Pamela Courson and Bebe Buell. I also take a lot of inspiration from David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger when it comes to styling my outfits.

Which song/songs do you have on repeat recently?

I’ve had Childish Gambino’s album, Awaken My Love, on repeat for months now. I’m dying to see him live.

Which item of clothing can you not stop wearing recently?

I picked up this embroidered, mirrored, oversized jacket from a vintage shop and I have not stopped wearing it since I bought it, even if it does clash drastically with my outfit!

OOTD - Winter is coming. A day in London with my sister :)

On Thursday, me and my sister Liv popped into London for the day. We had a couple of blogger events to go to, and we just fancied spending some time together so it was a really fun day. We don't live together and we don't end up spending that much time together when it comes to working full time and having busy weekends, so it's always nice to have a good old catch up day with your little sister :)

Fur stole - H&M
Camel coat - New Look
Turtle neck crop top - New Look
Textured skater skirt - Motel Rocks*
(Get 20% off MotelRocks.com using discount code 'floraldanielle')
City bag - Zara
Chunky black boots - Primark*

Firstly we popped into the B Public Relations SS15 Press Day which was hosting some of the newest collections from many beauty and fashion companys. Some of my favourites included Missguided, Regal Rose, Glamorous UK, Olivia Burton Watches, Ciate Nails and Alphabet Bags. We met lots of lovely ladies, had a good old browse through the collections and had a few temporary hand tattoos done.

This bohemian maxi dress was my favourite from all of the collections. It will be coming to the Glamorous website sometime this Spring/Summer, and I will definitely be refreshing the page until I can buy this beauty! The perfect festival outfit, it's already making me excited for the sun! :)

I was literally in love with everything on the Regal Rose stand. They seem to create the most perfect pieces every season and it was nice to get a sneak peak into what will be launching on their website in the Summer!

Afterwards we headed down to a 'blogger gifting event' hosted by Etail PR, where we were showered with some lovely beauty and fashion products to try out, most of which will be featured on my blog in the coming weeks so keep an eye out! It was a super fun event, where I met loads of lovely new bloggers, I got to meet the faces behind the brands and I was allowed to pick some of my favourites pieces from each brand which was so exciting as I'd never been to an event like that before! I was actually having such a fun time that I forgot to take any pictures, but as I said I'll be featuring the products on my blog! Thank you so much again for having us Etail PR :)

Lastly, we met up with my dad in Covent Gardens for a drink. We found a lovely little pub which overlooked the area, and we had the perfect view of the giant Christmas tree. I do feel it's a bit too early to be getting merry, but it definitely got us in the Christmas spirit!

Did any of the pieces catch your eye?

Gift ideas: Pearl Divine triple rainbow quartz crystal necklace! :)

When it comes to jewellery, I love to buy from an independent handmade brand. I am absolutely obsessed with silver jewellery and especially any that have quartz and crystals involved! Pearl Divine is a mix of the two things I have just mentioned above - handmade and crystals galore! When I was given the opportunity to review one of their necklaces, I jumped at the chance... just look how gorgeous this necklace is!

I just cannot get over how gorgeous the colours are. In different lights, the necklace changes from green and blue, anywhere to purple and copper. I've only worn it a couple of times so far but both times I've received compliments. It's a really statement piece without being too big and bulky, and it really brightens up my mostly monochrome wardrobe! For a bargain price of only £12, it beats most retail store prices, and is so much more unique. You'll definitely be seeing this necklace in an outfit post again soon!

Gemma, a fellow blogger and the owner of Pearl Divine, is a really lovely lady too. She hand packaged my parcel in the prettiest pink paper with heart stickers and included a personal letter she had written for me, you don't get that kinda service on the high street!

Iconemesis - Fifi Lapin iPhone case :)

As a Fashion Design graduate and general lover of all things fashion and blogging, I've always been a big fan of Fifi Lapin. Even if you aren't quite sure what or who she is, I'm sure you'll recognise the quirky little illustrations of her. Fifi is a fictional rabbit who blogs herself illustrated in the latest catwalk looks. She's such a cutie with tall white ears and pink cheeks, and has been named the 'world's most stylish bunny' by Elle Magazine! :)

I actually featured this iPhone case in my massive birthday wishlist blog post last April, so when I was recently approached by Iconemesis to review one of their iPhone cases and I saw that they still had this case but in an iPhone 5 option, I just knew that I had to have it. They have quite a few Fifi cases on the site, but this one with her in 12 seperate outfits was my instant favourite :)

The print illustrations are of a really high quality and the finish is lovely and shiny. The case itself is really sturdy and I was surprised by how easy it was to remove from the iPhone as most cases seem to get stuck on! The 'iconemesis' font at the bottom is a lovely gold shade, I just generally love this iPhone case!

Have you ever bought a case from iconemesis?
Would you add this to your Christmas wishlist?

OOTD - Antique posey.

Another outfit of the day on the blog today, this particular outfit was from a really fun bloggers event I went to last week with my best friend Courtney. It was a collaboration between Primark and the lovely Victoria from Inthefrow, and I filmed the whole thing so check out my YouTube for a video coming soon! I wore my favourite Motel Rocks maxi skirt for the first time and I've been in love with it ever since! :)

My new favourite handbag - the HanaRoo 'Sahara Dream' :)

Since dying my hair blonde, I had been on the look-out for a beige coloured bag to go with my new look. I've always loved the colour beige, especially on handbags (my best friend has the most GORGEOUS beige Mulberry bag) but I'd always felt that beige would look a little boring with my brown hair. So after taking the plunge, I needed to find a handbag to fit all of my needs. It needed to be big enough to carry all of my random junk on a daily basis, it has to be comfortable to carry and obviously I had to like the look of it! When I was contacted by the lovely ladies over at HanaRoo.co.uk about reviewing a handbag, I jumped at the chance and came across this beauty almost straight away - it must've been fate!

This bag is literally exactly what I had been looking for. The detailings on the buckle and hoops are more of a rose gold and the shape of the bag is so sophisticated - I undoubtedly think it looks a lot more expensive than it is! The bag doesn't have a zip to close it as I had been looking for, but it is definitely safe because the buckle requires being turned to unlock, and then you have to open the whole bag up which would be almost impossible when the bag is being worn. I have been wearing the bag with the long strap (which is also removable if that's not your thing) over my shoulder to make it more comfortable as I get a really bad back when I have bags on my lower arm for too long, but this has been really comfy to use and I have had many compliments so far!

You can see how many things I've managed to fit in this bag and that's not even on a day when I've stuffed it full! There is a zipped compartment for my iPhone and other valuables too. All in all, I really love this bag and I can see myself using this daily for a long while! I'm sure you'll see it in some outfit posts during the Summer as it will be perfect for all the fun picnics and riverside walks to be had! :)

Fluffy jumper and Dresslily necklace :)

With being so busy at uni all the time, I feel like I haven't had the time to really dress up much lately, so when we do have the occasional night out I love using it as an excuse to get really dolled up! I'll plan my outfits in advance and this combo is my recent favourite, it's definitely going to be used for the next night out, even if it is on my birthday night out at the end of April!

Primark duck blue fluffy crop top - £10.00

I recently bought this jumper in both black and blue from Primark, and they're definitely my most favourite buys recently! They keep you warm on a cold night out, but they're light enough to be worn during a sunny day too! This blue colour is absolutely gorgeous too and I can't wait to wear them loads more! :)

I was kindly sent this necklace from DressLily and it has quickly become my favourite SS14 go-to necklace! There are so many pretty colours in it which means that it goes well with lots of different coloured clothing. I've had it go well with pink, blue, cream, white and black so far! The black roping is a nice detail too as it means that the necklace is slightly less formal and can be worn during the day too.

DressLily is an online shop which is based in China and ship internationally. I was slightly worried about how long the necklace might take to arrive, but it did arrive within a week or two. The best bit is that flat rate shipping (7-20 days) is actually free of charge, and you can pay via Paypal too which is always the safest way to pay for anything online!

I've enjoyed writing this blog post as it has gotten me really excited for Spring and Summer, and wearing lots of pretty pastel colours again! I'm sure both of these items will be making a comeback in my blog soon and I aim to start actually taking some 'OOTD' photographs this Summer as I've been far too lazy/scared to in the past! Wish me luck! :)

What are you looking forward to wearing this S/S14?
Would you wear this combo together?
