Sunday summary #13

Helloooo! Yet again I can't believe how quickly Sunday has come around and that I have work again tomorrow. I've had a super busy weekend though including Graduate Fashion Week, catching up with old friends and a house party. I'm a bit back-logged with blog posts (I've taken the photos but haven't blogged yet as I've been SO busy) so this post is a little bit of a catch up and preview of what's to come! :)

Since starting my job I've been treating myself to lots of new beauty products and it's making me want to write lots of beauty blog posts to share my finds! The first of many I recently wrote was my top 5 Mac lipsticks blog posts, let me know what your favourite shade is!
I've recently re-found my love for the Studio Ghibli movies. Spirited Away has always been one of my favourite movies ever but I hadn't watched any of them in so long, it's good to watch them again!
I've decorated my room with these lovely polaroid instagram prints by using the app Printic. You can get £4 off using the code '1D0F1F' :)

Since starting my new job I've been working in some local areas to my hometown that I'd never really visited before. Who knew Hertfordshire had so many gorgeous floral pubs and hidden canal-side treasures?!
For my auntie's birthday, me and all the ladies in my family went to a gorgeous French restaurant in London called Zedel. The food and atmosphere was incredible, I shall be writing a blog post about it soon!

How gorgeous are these pieces I bought from Waiste Vintage?! Paisley print, mandala print and a gorgeous lantern - what more could you want?!
I'm so happy to have Game of Thrones back on my screen! What have you thought of this series?
This weekend me and my best friend are off to Download festival - I am so excited! Anyone else going too?!

I was lucky enough to get some last minute tickets to the Harry Potter studios recently and it was so good! I'd been once before when my boyfriend used to work there but I don't think I really appreciated how good it was! My favourite bit was Diagon Alley, the steam train and riding on the broom! :)
I've eventually got around to start editing my 100's of videos, and the most recent one I've uploaded is my holiday in Amsterdam, I miss it so much! You can watch it here :)

My lovely friend works in a cake shop and they needed a hand working their new coffee machine, so I swapped my barista skills for some gorgeous cupcakes - what a good trade! I now have a constant craving for red velvet, chocolate orange and oreo cupcakes!
Last weekend I had the most amazing time at GFW! I saw loads of my fashion friends that I hadn't seen since our GFW show, and the year below did an incredible job - so any gorgeous designs. (Yet again, video coming soon - make sure you're subscribed to my channel to see it!)

I literally cannot believe how gorgeous Caitlyn is. I saw this image pop up three times on my instagram timeline before I realised who it was, and she looks so similar to Jessica Lange (a fave of mine from American Horror Story), amazing!
I eventually treated myself to Nars Sheer Glow foundation this week and my gosh, I definitely understand the hype now! I'll get a full review up on the blog soon :)
I've discovered a lovely little cafe that I love to pop in to at lunch time, hot chocolate and rocky road rice krispie cakes are amazing!

Thanks for reading :)
What have you been up to this sunny week?

Sunday summary #12!

Yet again it's got to Sunday and I realise I haven't had the time to blog all week! You'll be pleased to know (hopefully) that I've spent today scheduling some blog posts for this week, and I intend to blog at least once a week from now on, despite finding it really difficult to juggle life at the moment! My new job is going really well, although with it being full time I have just evenings and weekends to blog, but once I get home all I wanna do it get into bed and watch Netflix, or go out and see my boyfriend or friends. Then at the weekend, I'm always busy so my blogging is taking a bit of a backseat. I've also joined the gym this weekend, so that's another thing to take up my time, but I do love blogging so I'm gonna try get back into the swing of things! :)

How cute is this personalised wrapping paper?! I've scheduled a full blog post on this coming next week, so keep your eyes peeled! It's such a cute idea though, I will definitely be using the website to get some created for my loved ones :). Despite being super busy, I still find the time to update my Pinterest boards daily. (You can follow me here if you have a Pinterest account too, feel free to link me yours in the comments!) I thought this quote was pretty cute! I'm also getting severe Amsterdam withdrawal symptoms... I definitely think another trip there should be on the cards soon!

Since blogging, I've had a bit of an ikea bedroom makeover. I treated myself to those famous Alex drawers and have all my beauty supplies in one place. They're the best thing in my room at the moment, I just love them! :) I was also super happy by the way the Zoolander 2 Movie was announced last week - by Zoolander and Hansel walking the actual Valentino catwalk at Paris Fashion Week... pure genius! These baby daffodils only mean one thing to me, it's finally Spring! :)

Every single year me and my boyfriend say we'll go to the farm in Spring to see the baby animals, and every single year we forget! Now that I drive again, I decided that we were gonna go this year, and my sister came along too. It was a really funny day, filled with feeding the baby lambs, riding on tractors and taking goat selfies, and I filmed the whole thing so I'll hopefully have that up on my YouTube channel soon :)

I spent a lovely day in London with my friend Ahmed last week. We went to some cool galleries, had some yummy food and some good giggles! Me and my sister surprised my mum to an afternoon tea and champagne for Mother's Day - it was all so delicious and mum loved it! :) We had a few sandwiches each, cheesecake, brownies, scones with jam and clotted cream, banana bread, fruit meringue and unlimited tea!

I'm still discovering some lovely places when I'm out and about for work. Love Lane is a road that I drive down most days, and this cute little heart stone is placed outside a pub. It's funny how there's so many nice places around you but you have no idea unless you explore! My friend Rosie made this fabulous unicorn cake for our friend Daisy's birthday party. Not only was it pink and glittery, but the inside was red velvet!!!

How ridiculously amazing does this photograph of Iceland look?! Another reason I constantly use Pinterest is to pin all those places I intend on travelling to in my lifetime, I better get saving - there's alot of them! This week I went to the first carboot sale of the year and I can't wait for all the carboot sales of Summer! :) I only really got some CD's for my car & Joe got some vinyls, but I'm sure I'll find lots of vintage goodies these next few weeks! I've spent the majority of today tidying my room and photographing for upcoming blog posts - I'm excited to get some fresh content up! :)

This week's favourite song of the week is a cover of Hozier's 'Take Me to Church' by Dan Dore. He's a friend of my cousin's and his YouTube is a mix of hilarious challenges and amazing covers, definitely check him out :)

Thanks for reading :)
I hope you've had a lovely weekend!
Love Dani :)

Sunday summary #10 - Halloween, Oh My Love SS15, purple hair and meeting Will Smith!

I've had a very busy few weeks since my previous Sunday summary post so here's a little instagram catch up post. I love writing these posts as they're a bit more personal than reviews and wishlists (not that I don't love writing those all the same too!) but I feel like these will be the ones I come and look back on to see how much has changed throughout the years!

I was invited down to the 'Oh My Love' SS15 Press Day to see their new collection and there was so many gorgeous pieces to drool over! They even had bunnies there to cuddle too, such a good idea! :)
I love their new stickers too, love a bit of sass!
I love that it's Autumn now so I can bust out as much burgundy as I like! I recently treated myself to some new Essie nail polishes and this one is my current favourite! It's called 'Shearling Darling' :)

I actually think Halloween might be my favourite time of the year. At university we made sure we went all out with our parties and costumes. Me and my best friend Courtney carved some pumpkins this year, and I went to a party with my sister and some friends. I left the costume deciding a bit late so went as a skeleton nurse... hopefully I'll have a better outfit next year haha!
I also wrote a little A/W wishlist (featuring Lush's pumpkin bubble bar) which you can read here if you'd like :)

How cute is this little house front? I love taking photos of pretty houses as inspiration for when I someday have a house of my own! I'll definitely be having lots of flowers around the front door!
This is my lovely new Fifi Lapin iPhone case and I'm obsessed with it, it's so cute!
Check out who I met! Okay so the title might've been a bit of a lie, but this cardboard cut-out of Will Smith looked so real in the photos!

What do you guys think of this purple hair? This photograph is actually photoshopped but I'm really tempted!
This week I eventually got my upgrade from an iPhone 4 to a 5c. I don't think I've ever been so excited!
Okay who else watches American Horror Story? I have such a crush on Evan Peters and I'm so glad he's back on my screen every week now :)

My cute little doggie knows she shouldn't be on the bed, but how could I say no to this fluff ball?!
These are some of my Motel Rocks Autumn Winter picks, you can read about all my picks here and don't forget you can get 20% off MotelRocks.com using discount code 'floraldanielle' :)
This Wednesday me and my boyfriend Joe had a lovely date night. We had Chiquitos for dinner including some yummy Strawberry Daiquiris and then we went to see Gone Girl at the cinema! Anyone else seen it? It was so different to what I thought it would be and I loved it!

This weeks favourite song/music video is Ugly Boy by Die Antwoord. I've posted a Die Antwoord song previously on a Sunday Summary post but I needed to post this one. Not only are they my favourite band, but this video which was released this week has so many famous people in it I love including Marilyn Manson, Dita Von Teese and Jack Black!

Thanks for reading! :)
What have you been up to this week?
Did you have a good Halloween?
Love Dani :)

Sunday summary #9 - Naked 3 Palette, American Horror Story and Royal Blood!

How is it Sunday again already!? The weeks go past so quickly it's actually scary! I've had a productive month and done lots of fun things along the way! I've been videoing nearly everything I do recently but I don't have the software to edit my videos so need to wait until I'm at my boyfriends to edit! You can subscribe to my channel on YouTube here if you'd like though - there is lots of beauty, fashion, Halloween and other fun things coming up! :) Does anyone else love to watch Hannah Magg's videos on a Sunday by the way? They're one of my fave families to watch on YouTube so if you don't yet watch them... you should! :D

Me and my friend Jess went to a Future Fashions show at LFW last month, you can read about it here :)
Oh my goodness, what is this?! I EVENTUALLY bought myself the Naked 3 palette and it most definitely lives up to the hype! I shall be blogging about this soon as it's my new baby!
I got back from uni and realised that my bedroom is tiny and I have too much stuff! My current bed was to the floor so I bought a new one from ikea that I can store stuff underneath, and I love it! :)

Last month me and my best friend Courtney got up to lots of fun things! She made me lose my Alton Towers virginity, and it was so much fun! I can't wait to go back there again! :)
We also went to Reading Festival which was super fun! I wrote a whole blog post on it and made a YouTube video on it here too so go have a little look :) I saw some of my favourite bands ever so it was an amazing weekend!

My hair keeps getting shorter and blonder! It's not in the best condition it's ever been :( so if you know of any good blonde hair treatments please let me know!
My mum, her boyfriend and my sister moved house recently so we had a lovely celebratory evening in her garden with some champagne! It's such a gorgeous little house and they're all really happy!
My blog turned two years old recently! I currently have a giveaway on to celebrate so make sure you enter yourself here, the prize is an Urban Decay Naked Palette :)

My bedroom and studio are coming together bit by bit, how lovely are these prints that I reviewed on my blog recently?! Cannot wait to have them hung on my studio wall :)
This two-piece is my current favourite buy from Motel Rocks, the bralet is so flattering and the skirt literally goes with everything! If you'd like to buy this, or anything else, don't forget that you can get 20% off MotelRocks.com using my discount code 'FLORALDANIELLE' :D
How cool is this birthday card that I bought for Joe!? Heisenberg!

This was a recent outfit of the day from when I went to a Primark A/W bloggers masterclass event with Courtney and got to meet the lovely Victoria from Inthefrow #awkwardselfie. I videoed the whole thing (and might even do a Primark Haul video if I get the guts to talk on camera) so look out for that very soon! :)
We were given a lovely goodie bag at the event and this doubled sided tartan scarf was one of the goodies!

All three of these photos are from my very recent trip to Scotland with Joe. It was fantastic and I can't wait to show you all what an amazing two weeks we had! I videoed the whole thing and there's so much footage that I might even need to do two separate videos, but it was a mixture of beautiful sunsets, sleeping in wigwams, tasting haggis, exploring waterfalls and climbing mountains!

I'm so happy that American Horror Story is back! There's only been two episodes, but I'm absolutely loving this series so far! Let me know if you watch it too, love knowing the other AHS lovers! :)
Winter is coming - and I'm definitely gonna throw in that Game of Thrones quote every single A/W;) it actually is though, I've been living in my furs the past few weeks!
I recently spent my birthday voucher in Urban Outfitters and came out with the coolest ring holder ever!

These past few months I've been loving Royal Blood. I only heard about them a few weeks before Reading Festival and I'm still loving them, I cannot wait to hear what else they have up their sleeves. I still can't get over the fact that there's only two of them!

Thanks for reading :)
I'm sorry I've been a terrible blogger these past few months!
Gonna try and stick to my weekly Sunday summary posts :)

Sunday summary #8

Yet again, it's been forever since I've done a Sunday Summary blog post! I've tried to leave out any uni related photos so that I can do another post specifically on my fashion work (you can see the first one here), which has been rather hard as I feel like that's all I'm doing right now! I'm both happy and sad that the weather's starting to warm up - happy because I absolutely love the sun, but sad because I have to enjoy it from inside, or occasionally at the weekend :)

I watched the entire five series of Breaking Bad this term in less than a month. I was totally hooked and I'm pretty sad that it's over forever now, but I'm gonna watch it again from the start one day. It amused me how much the blue Jolly Ranchers look like Walter's blue crystal meth!
I'm starting to do some more beauty related posts on my blog recently, as I love doing my hair and make up as much as any other girl, so why not share my thoughts on products! The first of many is this review of the Model's Own new Hyper Gel nail polishes which you can see here :)
We have a balcony on one of the bedrooms of our uni house, so on Sundays we like to all hang on there for an hour or two in the sun. #balconybants

I've recently left the dark side and gone blonde. It still needs one or two more sessions until it's the proper blonde that I'd like, but I'm loving it already! This photograph was taken when I was testing out my new Benefit Lollitint so if you'd like to see the full review you can see it here :)
How gorgeous are these vintage locks!? I found them when fabric shopping in London and I think I'm gonna have to go back and purchase one! They're about as big as my palm, and the keys work on them still, I just need to find something I can lock up!
Primark have got it absolutely spot on with these My Little Pony pajama bottoms!

Some little outfit details - the skirt is from Topshop and the rings are from Waiste Vintage.
A recent black and white Wednesday wishlist which you can check out here :)
Have any of you guys been using these Carex hand washes?! I'm absolutely obsessed with them, the smells are so realistic! I picked up Strawberry Laces, Chocolate Orange and Cola Bottles flavours. The Strawberry Laces one is currently in my bathroom and it makes me happy every time I use it!

Isn't this just the cutest kind of graffiti you've ever seen!? I go to an arts university so I'm not sure if it was part of someones project, but balloon art on the walk home from uni definitely cheered me up!
My friend Tim works at the local Starbucks so he gave us personalised names on our cups haha!
The Kings Pub in Norwich has the cutest pin-up wallpaper in their toilets, I really want to do this in my bathroom when I get my own house!

Need to get yourself a new notepad? Then be sure to check out Wilkinsons, how cute is this little doggie one?!
I've given my blog a little makeover recently and I really like the way it looks now. It included a lot of searching on Google for how to use HTML (I used to be so good back in the Myspace days) but I'm definitely feeling like change is a good idea.
When Joe came to visit last month we went to Biddy's Tea Room in Norwich, which is basically my favourite place right now! For under a tenner you can get unlimited tea, a few huge sandwiches and crisps, then a cake of your choice, all served in mismatching vintage floral china. If you're ever in the area you should definitely go there for lunch, it's all so beatifically decorated too! :)

The nearer it's getting to Summer, the more I'm getting excited for bringing out my colourful wardrobe including some lovely pastels. This jumper is actually from Primark and it's one of my favourites lately. You can read this full blog post here :)
I've eventually got around to sitting down today and reading this issue of Company magazine including lots of lovely bloggers who's blogs I love anyways!
Lastly but not leastly, a very happy Mother's Day to my beautiful mummy! I love this picture of us so much, I'm such a squished little chipmunk!

In the last Sunday Summary post, I promised I'd start leaving my favourite song/band at the time. This week I booked my ticket for Reading Festival. It'll be the first time I ever go to Reading and I cannot wait, so many of my favourite bands are playing. I've only started listening to Die Antwoord recently but they are fast becoming another favourite, and I can't wait to see them live this Summer!

Thanks for reading :)
Are you going to Reading too?

Sunday summary #7 - A bit about being a fashion design student and my final collection :)

I thought I should probably do a blog post at some point about my final year at university so far and my final collection, seen as it's the only thing I seem to be doing nowadays! If you didn't already know, I study Fashion Design at university and I'm in my final year. From now until May, I shall be finishing my six outfit final collection, which is both super fun and super scary at the same time! Some outfits will only contain one or two garments, but some will contain three or four plus accessories so there is a lot to think about

Sketchbook work has been the bane of my life for the past three years. I have a totally love/hate relationship with sketchbooks though, I find them tedious to do but once I look back at them I actually love them! They're good for working through your projects from start to end and developing ideas though :)

I really need to invest in a proper mannequin after uni, these ones are so good as they have lines already on them for bust point, centre front etc. I'm literally working on a mannequin 24/7 nowadays too, which is really fun but stressful when the mannequins are slightly bigger than the actual model so you need to change all the sizes again!

This was an initial line-up idea for my final collection. It has been a lot more refined now and has changed loads, but I still like to look back to this and see what some of my original designs were.  My initial ideas came from India and jellyfish, not that you can see that much in these designs either, but everything moves and develops so quickly!

Pinterest quotes have been keeping me going! I go through stages of using Pinterest and at the moment I like to go on once a day for some daily pinning and lots of inspirational quotes! You can follow me here if you also have a Pinterest, but be warned I post alot ;)

I've had fun this term experimenting with textiles and other ways to design which I hadn't done before. Even just setting up an overhead projector and projecting your chosen image onto a mannequin can inspire some new ideas!

Here are some of my initial print ideas, some are more literal and some have been kaleidoscoped (if that's a word) to make them a repeat pattern and a bit more interesting. I'm still not 100% which style I like the best yet, but I do think I should only have one or the other, as the non-repeat one looks a lot more organic.

I spent a good few days creating this curved collar but I'm really happy with how it has turned out. I'm going to have a printed version of this shirt somewhere in my collection for definite as I love it, and I need to have some simplistic garments in my collection to balance out the smocking and embroidery.

Lastly, I have been experimenting with smocking different materials and draping it onto the stand. I love how this experiment has turned out, and it would look great as a top on it's own, or simply as a neck-piece. I've always loved the look of smocking techniques and the ruffles goes back to my initial research when I was looking at jellyfish tentacles.

I've literally been backwards and forwards to London sourcing fabric so many times in recent times, which is rather annoying when my hometown is 30 minutes from London and my uni town is over two hours away! But I've been enjoying choosing my final fabrics and experimenting in them, even if it is burning a hole in my pocket! I've also come across so many gorgeous fabrics that I want to make clothes in for myself when I finish uni - How gorgeous are these tartans?!

Pattern cutting day in and day out has also become a part of my daily routine. I recently invested in a pair of fabric scissors which nearly cost me £100... but they're so worth it as they feel like I'm cutting through air, and they'll last me a lifetime! My little floral apple pin holder is from my boyfriend's nanny and I love it!

I love treating myself to a fashion magazine or two at the weekend while I do some sketchbook and watch some Breaking Bad! You definitely have to chill out a bit at the weekends otherwise you'll literally go crazy.

Here is a preview of my first outfit in final fabrics. I'm sure everything will change loads as I go on, but I'm loving the high-waisted trousers so far and just need to decide on my final print :)

And last but not least, here is my favourite image to describe the past few months of my life. It literally is all fun and games until the bobbin runs out haha! There is nothing worse than sewing a garment and the bobbin running out halfway through, athough I've had it before where it ran out before I even started, and I didn't realise until I'd finished that seam... that was very annoying!

Thanks for reading :)
I hope you enjoyed a little insight into my life and a slightly different Sunday summary!
I will be updating my blog with more final collection posts as I continue my journey :)
And you can follow my instagram @floraldanielle for daily updates!
Love Dani :)

I haven't actually done a Sunday Summary post since the middle of Summer, which was ages ago! I have been super busy with my fashion course this year, which I'm loving but it really is hard work. I'm only into week 3 but it feels like I've been back and working hard for months! Alot of these photos are 'fashion student' photos so sorry if they're all a bit same-y, but that's literally my life right now haha!

The fabrics I found on my trip to London, I love them all, how am I gonna pick the final ones?!

It's been almost a month since I've last posted a Sunday summary post, and this is very naughty of me as I told myself I would do them every single Sunday! I've been home for Summer about a month now so all of these photos are since being home from university and all the random things I've been up to! I've been on a few mini getaways to the beach and to see friends, I've caught up with my besties and had lots of yummy food which is always nice when I'm used to student living for the rest of the year!
